The single purpose of the One Stop Investor Service Centre at Coega is for it to help fast-track the investor’s needs within the Coega IDZ.
The Contact Centre provides a single point of contact between the Coega IDZ and its stakeholder base including; large to medium businesses, local, and national government and the community.
The Contact Centre eliminates the need for numerous entry points to information at the CDC and ensures that information is conveniently made available, consolidated and consistently communicated to investors in the IDZ.
The Centre operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day, with the primary focus being on incident management to ensure that services are restored in the shortest possible time.

- Assistance in identifying the right location in the IDZ for investment in order to optimise logistics and minimize impact on the environment.
- Assistance with the environmental impact assessment.
- Access to more than 100 environmental impact studies that have already been completed.
- Assistance in drawing up a business plan.
- Support in obtaining finance.
- Identifying incentives and helping investors to qualify for them.
- Fast-tracking of applications through the administrative process.
- Technical support for construction.
- Recruitment and training of construction teams.
- Recruitment and training of workers for factory, warehouse or other facilities.
- Support for the relocation of key personnel, including work permits, finding accommodation and settling in.
- Shared services such as the information technology infrastructure, cleaning and maintenance (facilities management services).
- Purpose-built infrastructure to meet the needs of tenants.
Financial system.
South Africa has a modern financial and banking system which is highly developed and is closely regulated to protect the interests of investors and depositors.
The banking system consists of a central bank (the Reserve Bank), a number of large financially strong banks and investment institutions and many smaller banks. Foreign banks are also well represented.
Key areas of business of foreign banks include trade finance, letters of credit, foreign exchange activities and services to offshore investors. All of these facilities are available to investors in the Coega IDZ.
Immigration Services.
The South African Department of Home Affairs offers a multitude of services to foreigners who wish to visit or stay in the country including; visitors on holiday, business or medical trips, work seekers, workers, students and marriage partners of SA citizens.
The One-Stop Investor Services Centre offers assistance in interfacing with the Department of Home Affairs.
One Stop Shop - Single Authority.
The investor or developer in the IDZ engages with a single authority which facilitates activities with all relevant parties. This includes the facilitation of permits and approvals with government bodies, recruitment, training and numerous other services to assist a speedy relocation.
The CDC can also act as a facilitator for meetings with the relevant stakeholders typically Department of Minerals and Energy, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, Department of Finance (National Treasury), Transnet, Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality and Department of Labour.
